After searching and searching, I finally found THE one place to buy gun holsters!

Galco Holsters, Blackhawk holsters, fobus holsters and many, many more. There are so many different brands and products to choose from that the hardest part will be choosing just one holster.

Gun holsters such as Galco will come in all shapes, sizes and colors. But they also come in different "carries" such as the shoulder, belt, ankle and even a handbag gun holster for the ladies!

These gun holsters come in many types of textiles but the most popular is made from a plastic called Kydex which is actually a type of plastic also used in knife sheaths. These gun holsters in particular are quick, adjustable and almost indestructible. One of the most simple kinds of retention is friction, however, a lot of gun holsters also include some sort of a snap or band across the opening of the holster where the gun sits. Snaps in all probability are placed so that they unclasp towards or away from the trunk of the body. The reasoning behind this is to give you the user a more effective approach to drawing the gun. It's necessary that you understand what kind of snap you have built into your holster because numerous snaps take some actual thrust to trigger the opening whereas other gun holsters can easily be opened just by flipping the gun up against it.

Here is a little tidbit of info about Boonie Hats:

A boonie hat is a form of wide-brim hat commonly used by militaries. Its design is similar to a bucket hat but with a stiffer brim. Often a fabric tape band of 'branch loops' is sewn around the crown of the hat. This 'foliage ring' is meant to hold additional vegetation as camouflage. A strap provides stability. The crown may be vented with rivets or mesh panels. Snaps may also be provided with which to fix the brim in the style of an Australian bush hat. They are also known as bush hats.

INTERNET SALES TAX????


Faced with crushing deficits, depressed tax revenues, and a grim outlook for 2009, states across the country are taking another hard look at taxing interstate sales completed on the web. Once a strict "no tax" zone, those walls are now on the verge of crumbling.
Following the lead of tax-hungry New York, 22 states and hundreds of retailers have joined a group called the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board. The goal of the group is to simplify the methods by which sales taxes are calculated, collected, and transmitted online by creating a set of tax rules that rolls the thousands of state, county, and city tax codes into a single, simplified code. And the SSTGB also wants to make those rules apply to all online purchasers, even those across state lines, not just buyers in the same state as the seller's offices.
The SSTGB already has some of the biggest retailers around in its pocket, including Wal-Mart, Borders, and J.C. Penney.
Of course, not everyone is thrilled about the prospect of the e-taxman. Amazon is famously suing New York for its requirement that the company collect sales taxes for all sales to New York, despite the fact that Amazon doesn't have a physical presence there. It is collecting those taxes, though, in the meantime, as the case works its way to court.
Overstock, however, is not collecting those taxes, having fired 3,400 of its New York-based affiliates in order to skirt the NY legislation. (The recently-enacted law claims that locally-based "affiliates," which collect a commission on referrals for sales of products sent on to a third-party retailer, constitute a physical nexus in the state and thus make the retailer responsible for tax collection.) Overstock is also suing New York over the law.
What happens now? More waiting and negotiating for the forseeable future. As Forrester analyst Sucharita Mulpuru notes, "It's a legal morass. In a best-case scenario, it's going to take a while to sort everything out!

5.11 Tactical RUSH backpack

One of the best backpacks we have ever seen. You have to try out the yoke system for the shoulder straps. They are really comfortable.

The VTAC RUSH72 and RUSH24 backpacks were designed by Kyle Lamb, a guy who has certainly tread his share of miles with loads of gear. Tactical Pant review

T he clothes I wear are an important part of my work as a full-time storm chaser. My clothes must be comfortable, functional, durable and look relatively professional when the day is done.

I recently had the opportunity to try out 5.11" Tactical Pants, Tactical Shorts and their 5.11 Tactical Vest."

5.11 Tactical Series clothing is often used by FBI agents and law enforcement. There is a good reason for this. The 5.11's are lightweight, but surprisingly durable and comfortable. The strategic design of cargo pockets, allow me to store all kinds of chase and photo gadgets.

5.11 Tactical Pant Review

At last year’s SWAT Round-Up, I noticed that pretty much all the staff were wearing 5.11 Tactical Pants, and that these pants looked really good. I asked Mike Foreman, the Round-Up’s organizer and head honcho how he liked them, and he said they were great. Well that was enough for me.

I’ve had three pairs of my own 5.11 Tactical Pants for the last year (in beige, o.d. green, and navy blue), and have been...

very satisfied with them. They’ve been durable and comfortable, and are obviously well made. So far, they've held up well to repeated washings (and dryings) over the last year.

The 5.11 Tactical Pant is currently the premiere cargo pant worn by federal law enforcement and police personnel, particularly during training. Chances are, if you see someone in law enforcement wearing a pair of cargo pants or cargo shorts while training, they’re wearing 5.11 Tactical Pants.

So, are they perfect? Well, in my opinion, a couple of things could conceivably be modified for my personal tastes. I’ll call them my druthers. First, I’d like to see a “cell phone pocket” added to the left leg, just like the one on the right leg. The “cell phone” pocket is the narrow pocket on the right leg immediately to the left of the main front pocket. It looks like it’s the ideal size to hold a spare pistol magazine, and it basically is. The reason Royal Robbins should add this pocket to the left leg is so that righties like myself can use it to store a spare pistol mag and access that mag quickly with the left hand under stress for fast reloads.

The second modification I’d like to see is strengthened/reinforced pockets. When stuffing spare loaded (and thus heavy) pistol mags in your pockets, it’s reassuring to know that those pockets won’t rupture while running or after repeated washings. The pockets as they are now might hold up to plenty abuse, but I’m just not sure about this. Frankly, I’d have more faith in them if they were reinforced a bit with some more material.

Finally, I’d like to see waist and leg sizes in one inch increments as opposed to two inch increments. For instance, I’d like to try a pair of 5.11’s in a 31” waist and 33” leg. Right now, I have to settle for 30” waist, 32” leg because the 32” waist, 34” leg size pants are a little to wide and long for me. My 31”W, 32”L’s are a little too tight and short, but they work.

Understand that very few pieces of clothing are perfect. 5.11 Tactical Pants at least make the attempt, and are better than anything else I’ve found so far for tactical training. Hopefully, the good folks at Royal Robbins will read this piece and make my desired “modifications”. If they were to do so, they’d make what is currently a great product even better.
